Michelle Herrick, JPMorgan Chase
As JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking’s Managing Director, Head of Commercial Real Estate, Michelle Herrick is responsible for the institution’s $145 billion commercial real estate portfolio, which is the largest in the U.S. and plays an essential role in developing and strengthening communities. The CRE portfolio consists of four businesses: Agency Lending, Community Development Banking, Commercial Term Lending, and Real Estate Banking.
Herrick joined JPMorgan Chase in 2017 to run the Real Estate Banking Central region. In 2021, she was promoted to head of Real Estate Banking and then head of Commercial Real Estate in 2025.
She is active in her community, serving as a global trustee for the Urban Land Institute and a member of the ULI Americas Executive Committee. She also sits on the board of directors for The Real Estate Roundtable and is on the advisory board of the nonprofit One Million Degrees. Herrick received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Miami University and earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
These are some of the reasons why Michelle Herrick was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s first annual AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
