Scott Laes is a leading litigation attorney with Cox Castle, who specializes in business and commercial disputes, real estate disputes, partnership disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, construction defect litigation, construction delay litigation, financial services litigation and insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts.

He is a member of Cox Castle’s Recruiting Committee and has managed the firm’s summer program.

Notable representative matters include defending a general contractor in a multi-party action against breach of contract, indemnity and negligence owner claims. He also obtained a full jury verdict and $1-million award on behalf of a cemetery owner for claims of breach of contract, nuisance and trespass against a trucking company.

Laes mentors younger lawyers in the firm and is involved in professional organizations, including the LA County Bar Association, the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Legal Advisory Committee, and the ABA Forum on Construction. He is also involved with pro bono work, including clinics offered by the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
