Heather Friedman is a Partner in the Environmental Practice Group at Morris, Manning & Martin in Atlanta. She is environmental counsel for many clients including national REITs, developers, regulated parties, financial institutions and institutional lenders. Friedman focuses her legal practice on resolving complex environmental issues from a business perspective. She uses her extensive understanding of environmental considerations and their legal ramifications to advise clients on a wide variety of environmental matters.
She routinely engages with the U.S. Environmental Protection and state agencies on brownfield projects, superfund sites, hazardous site cleanups, National Environmental Policy Act matters, underground storage tank programs and wetland and state water permitting. She is a frequent presenter on environmental considerations associated with buying, selling and redeveloping environmentally impacted properties.
Friedman is a dedicated mentor to younger attorneys. She also serves as president of the Georgia Brownfield Association.
Additionally, Friedman has been selected as Environmental Law’s Best Lawyers and named Georgia Super Lawyer’s “Rising Star” in Atlanta Magazine.
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Heather Friedman with Connect CRE’s 2022 Atlanta & Southeast Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
