W. Dean Weidner is the Founder and Chairman of Weidner Apartment Homes, a privately held real estate investment and property management company. Since its 1977 launch, the company has become one of the largest apartment owners in the United States, with a portfolio exceeding 300 multifamily communities across 13 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces. In 2024, the National Multifamily Housing Council ranked Weidner the 12th largest apartment owner in the U.S.
Weidner received the Washington Multi-Family Housing Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes his decades of leadership and contributions to the property management profession.
He is committed to education and workforce development. He donated significantly to the University of Wisconsin-Stout’s real estate property management program, which helped fund scholarships and facilities.
Weidner earned a B.A. in Business from the University of Colorado and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from California State University, Fresno.
