H. Eric Bolton Jr., MAA Communities
H. Eric Bolton Jr. has served as Executive Chairman of Mid-America Apartment Communities (MAA), Inc. since April 1, 2025. Under his leadership, MAA became one of the largest REITS in the nation.
Bolton joined the company in 1994 as Vice President of Development, was named Chief Operating Officer in February 1996 and was subsequently promoted to President in December 1996. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2002.
Prior to joining MAA, Bolton was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Trammell Crow Realty Advisors, for which he worked for more than five years.
In addition to his role with MAA, Bolton is actively involved with industry organizations. He has been on the Executive Board and the Advisory Board of Governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Nareit). Currently, he serves on the board of directors for EastGroup Properties.
Bolton earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Memphis and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate from the University of North Texas.
