Mitchell Morgan, Morgan Properties
Mitchell Morgan is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Morgan Properties, which invests in and manages multifamily properties. He oversees all aspects of the company he founded in 1985.
Under his leadership, Morgan Properties has grown to become the third-largest multifamily owner in the country with a portfolio of over 350 apartment communities and over 100,000 units in 22 states, valued at $17 billion.
Mitchell assists the real estate industry as a research sponsor with the Samuel Zell and Robert Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School. In the past, he was President of the Apartment Association of Greater Philadelphia.
The Morgan Family Foundation supports organizations including the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, the Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia Orchestra, Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Norton Museum of Art, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Wills Eye Hospital, MorseLife Foundation and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Ernst & Young has named Mitchell the Entrepreneur of the Year, Temple University’s Fox School of Business has awarded him the Warren V. “Pete” Musser Award, and the Philadelphia Business Journal has named him one of its Most Admired CEOs.
Mitchell earned a B.S. in Accounting from Temple University and a J.D. from Temple Law. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Temple University after serving as a longstanding trustee and the Chair of the Facilities Committee.
These are some of the reasons why Mitchell Morgan was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s first annual AB 100 Owner/Investor of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
