Geraldine Hayhurst

Geraldine Hayhurst is General Counsel for NewPoint and is responsible for all legal matters affecting the company.  She is also a member of NewPoint’s Executive Committee. In her role, Hayhurst provides expert and strategic legal advice to management and supports team deals.

She is closely involved in developing the firm’s Proprietary Lending Platform, including NewPoint’s successful balance sheet Bridge Loan program and the recently launched NewPoint Impact proprietary LIHTC/Tax-Exempt affordable housing finance platform. She also played a critical role in NewPoint’s acquisition of HHC Finance’s assets, including its multifamily and healthcare originations business and loan servicing portfolio.

Before joining NewPoint, Hayhurst worked for Freddie Mac, where she helped with the industry’s replacement of LIBOR with SOFR. At Freddie Mac, she led the legal workstream that provided key advice to management on the LIBOR transition and was instrumental in bringing Freddie Mac’s SOFR-based transactions to close.
