Practice concentrates on real estate financing, emphasis on lender-side GSE loan servicing
Authors pieces about commercial real estate legal issues
As Partner with Ballard Spahr’s Washington DC. Offices, Andrew Almand concentrates his practice on real estate financing, with a strong emphasis on lender-side GSE commercial loan servicing and asset management requests. His efforts concern all manner of multifamily housing product types, including market, affordable and seniors housing loan servicing matters.
Utilizing his expansive knowledge of GSE commercial loan servicing requirements and standards, he helps his GSE and loan servicer clients deftly navigate the rigors of complex loan assumptions, transfers of ownership interests and myriad other servicing requests for both securitized and non-securitized loans. Almand routinely counsels GSEs and their respective loan servicers in individual representations, shared/joint counsel representations and, depending on the complexity of the particular loan servicing matter, in consolidated counsel representations of multiple loan servicers.
In addition to his loan servicing practice, Almand is regularly sought out by lenders and borrowers to serve as local Virginia counsel in real estate and finance transactions.
He regularly authors pieces on behalf of Ballard Spahr about commercial real estate legal issues. Best Lawyers in America (Washington, DC) named Almand as “Ones to Watch—Real Estate Law.”
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Andrew Almand with Connect CRE’s 2022 Washington DC Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
