Matthew A. Sharp, Hamilton Point Investments
Matthew A. Sharp is co-founder and Managing Principal of Hamilton Point Investments (HPI) LLC. Since its 2009 launch, the company has acquired over 140 multifamily, student housing, manufactured housing and hotel properties worth between $3.5 billion and $3.8 billion. HPI has acquired over 34,000 apartment units to date.
Before forming HPI, Sharp was Director of CMBS Origination at ABN AMRO Bank, N.V. and a CMBS analyst at Standard and Poor’s. He also held the position of Vice President in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Gruntal & Co., Inc.. He was a member of the Acquisitions Group at Schroder Real Estate Associates.
Sharp is the former Finance Chair on the Town of Lyme’s Board of Finance and Chairman of the Investment Committee of the MacCurdy-Salisbury Educational Foundation. He is a Board of Trustees member at Miss Porter’s School.
Sharp received his B.A. from Columbia University (B.A. 1990) and his M.S. in Real Estate Investment from New York University.
