Michelle Kelban, Global Co-Chair of Latham & Watkin’s Real Estate Practice in New York, advises clients on a range of complex real estate transactions, including capital raising and financing, acquisitions, joint venture recapitalizations and workouts and restructurings.

Kelban works with private equity firms, US and foreign investors, institutional lenders and family offices in helping to all types of real estate transactions across an array of asset classes. She offers particular experience in highly structured and multifaceted deals involving bespoke structures.

Notable representations include work with Ares Management on its $2.5-billion acquisition of Front Yard Residential Corporation; representation of a Middle Eastern investor in its acquisition of the Montage Beverly Hills and advising Katara Hospitality in the complex sale of Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel.

Kelban provides pro bono counsel to nonprofit organizations and schools, including the Girls Global Academy (GGA). She is also a member of the Beacon Group.

Kelban was elected to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. In addition, she been honored as a “Rising Star” and “Top Young Real Estate Attorney” by Law360.
