A partner in DLA Piper’s Chicago Real Estate practice, Mariah DiGrino’s concentration is in the areas of land use and zoning, public-private financing, public incentives, historic preservation and community and economic development, as well as general real estate.
DiGrino represents owners, developers, retailers, investors and public-private partnerships on the local and national levels. Her activities include securing annexation, development, zoning and subdivision approvals; negotiating and implementing public-private development and financing arrangements and public incentives; negotiating historic preservation designations and incentives; performing general and zoning due diligence and property evaluation and negotiating and closing real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
She has secured entitlements and public incentives for the largest historic rehabilitation projects in Chicago, including the IBM Building, Wrigley Building, Tribune Tower, LondonHouse Chicago, Marshall Field’s Building and the Old Chicago Post Office. DiGrino is also an experienced litigator, having defended condemnation proceedings and enforcement actions at the trial and appellate levels.
Since 2013, DiGrino has been pro bono general counsel for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. She has been identified as Band 3, Illinois Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use by Chambers USA and as Recommended Land Use/Zoning by The Legal 500 United States.
