Jennifer Nichols
Represented 61 deals in 2021, on track to approach 80 in 2022
Developed legal processes and procedures for the company
Jennifer Nichols assumed the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at CRG’s Chicago office in late 2020. In her role, she leads an in-house department that handles all legal, compliance and Nichols and her team help structure, acquire, finance, develop and sell CRG’s many assets. In 2021 that translated to 68 deals that passed through her hands, and in 2022 that number is on track to approach 80.
Nichols developed and established the formal legal processes and procedures by standardizing deal diligence and closing procedures, signature authorization procedures, and the review and approval of standard deal documents such as NDAs and confidentiality agreements.
As a woman of color, Nichols is especially committed to helping advance women and minorities in the legal field. This includes being part of a senior leadership team that has developed and is implementing an enterprise-wide, holistic DEI program meant to meaningfully improve access to CRE opportunities for Black and other minority populations.
Outside of CRG, Nichols co-chairs the In-House Committee for the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law. She is also Vice President of the Facility Corporation Board of Kappa Alpha Theta at Michigan State and a member of Chief. She serves on the advisory committee of CRG’s parent company’s Juneteenth Fund, empowering individuals, organizations and companies to support education, awareness and charitable causes promoting freedom, equity and safety in our communities.
These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Jennifer Nichols with Connect CRE’s 2022 Chicago & Midwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
