Experienced in land use law and development permitting in Greater Boston

Background in development projects with partnerships and ground lease negotiations with public agencies

As Chair of Mintz, Levin’s Real Estate Development Practice in Boston, Rebecca Lee steers developers, lenders, companies and nonprofit organizations through a wide array of real estate transactions and matters. Her experience is in land use law and development permitting in the Greater Boston area, and she frequently draws upon her earlier experience as chief of staff / special counsel to the director of the Boston Redevelopment Authority — now known as the Boston Planning & Development Agency.

Her practice also encompasses acquisitions/dispositions, condominium creation and financing, including matters that involve historic preservation and tax incentive elements. She has deep experience with development projects involving public/private partnerships and the negotiation of ground leases with public agencies and authorities.

A frequent presenter and speaker at area events, Lee’s honors include Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly “Go-To-Lawyers Honoree” Chambers USA–Massachusetts Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use, Best Lawyers in America: Real Estate Law and Land Use & Zoning Law and Massachusetts Super Lawyers: Real Estate. She also received the founders award from the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts.

Community endeavors include membership on the Asian Community Development Corporation and Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy Board of Directors, membership on the Eastern Bank Board of Advisors, participation on the Ricesticks and Tea Asian Food Pantry’s Steering Committee and membership with the Massachusetts Women’s Forum. Lee also regularly participates as a pianist in the annual Chamber Music Conference of the East.

These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Rebecca Lee with Connect CRE’s 2022 Boston & New England Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
