CBRE

One of the company’s youngest leaders

Updated retail-specific messaging and overhauled awards/recognition processes

One of the company’s youngest leaders, Laura Barr currently serves as CBRE’s Americas Retail Leader. She heads the retail leasing division, consisting of nearly 500 brokers and hundreds of support staff.

She is responsible for CBRE Retail’s growth strategy and client delivery. Her leadership sets the vision and tone for the Retail division, and she oversees detailed, time-bound initiatives that drive the business forward for every retail team member. Barr also manages the creation of connectivity and collaboration between service lines and product types and the development of strategic and out-of-the-box solutions.

Barr served as a co-leader of a cohort on the Women’s Network for the Advisory & Transaction Services line of business. She has also been and remains deeply involved in the CBRE Women’s Network. She is involved in several charitable and community organizations, including as a board member for La Cocina, Presidio Scholars and Health Hospitality Partners.

Internally, Barr is the inaugural CBRE’s Darla Longo Award winner and was honored with the company’s Top Retail Producer and Three Pillars Growth Awards. She’s also been named “Most Influential Women” (San Francisco Business Times) and “10 Under 40” (Chain Store Age).

These are just a few reasons why Laura Barr is one of the National Connect CRE 2024 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
