Serving as the first female office managing partner in the Fort Lauderdale office of Akerman, Leslie Miller Tomczak provides strategic direction and management, overseeing day-to-day attorney-related matters within the office.
Tomczak has experience in construction matters representing developers, owners, landlords, contractors, subcontractors, lenders, architects, and other design professionals.
Notable matters include representing the City of Orlando in its $400 million renovation of Camping World Stadium and collaborating with Inter Miami CF to develop Miami Freedom Park, a 25,000-seat Major League Soccer venue located near Miami International Airport.
Tomczak mentors young attorneys, encouraging them to get involved in the community, take on pro bono work, and participate in charitable endeavors as part of both their professional and personal development.
She serves on the ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean and the University of Florida Bergstrom Real Estate Center’s Real Estate Advisory Boards.
She has been recognized by Chambers USA (Construction in Florida), The Legal 500 (Construction), South Florida Business Journal (Power Leader), GlobeSt/Real Estate Forum (Women of Influence), Florida Trend’s Legal Elite (Notable Managing Partner) and Connect CRE (Women in Real Estate).
Tomczak is Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Construction Law and is a LEED Accredited Professional, representing clients on sustainable building issues.
