Led team that represented seller in $1-billion sale of NYC’s IBM Building

Worked with team on loan restructurings and public agency negotiations

Miles Borden is a Partner & Co-Chair of Seyfarth’s New York Real Estate Practice, which focuses on various commercial real estate matters including acquisitions, sales, joint ventures, development, leasing and lending. He counsels institutional lenders on financings, while also representing tenants and landlords on ground and master leases, as well as office and retail leases.

Borden has a key role in Seyfarth’s thought leadership initiatives, including the firm’s Real Estate Market Pulse. In each edition, he provides timely analysis on market developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.

Within the past 12 months, Borden led a team in representing STRS Ohio in the $1.08-billion sale of 590 Madison Ave. in New York City (the IBM Building), marking the first NYC office sale above $1 billion since 2022. Other initiatives have involved loan restructurings and negotiations with public agencies.

Borden participates in key industry events, such as IMN’s US Real Estate Opportunity & Private Fund Investing Forum. At this event, he served as a panelist for the session “Transitioning From an Emerging to an Established Fund Manager,” during which he shared insights on fund structuring, capital strategies, and market trends.

These are some of the reasons why Miles Borden received Connect CRE’s 2025 New York & Tri-State Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
