Advised a financial institution on a $150.6-million construction loan
Served as matter manager on a $400-million loan from an institutional lender
DLA Piper Partner Heather Horowitz works with clients on the financial side of transactions, including large-scale construction loans, mezzanine financing, loan modifications, and structured debt solutions. Her ability to navigate intricate capital stacks and intercreditor arrangements means lender protections are maintained and that projects can move forward. During her career, Horowitz has managed more than $1 billion in real estate finance and investment matters.
Major deals include advising Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank on a $150.6-million construction loan. The sponsor obtained funding for a ground-up, 388-unit multifamily/retail project in Bellevue, WA.
Horowitz was also the matter manager on behalf of a leading institutional lender for a $400-million loan. The financing was secured by a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, which will include residential units, creative office space, retail and an open-air plaza.
These are some of the reasons why Heather Horowitz received Connect CRE’s 2025 New York & Tri-State Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
