Represented ownership in a billion-dollar portfolio restructuring

Advised prominent real estate investors in restructuring initiatives

Leo Jacobs is the Founder and Managing Partner of Jacobs P.C. The boutique firm specializes in commercial litigation, real estate and restructuring. He is a trusted advisor to some of the city’s largest developers, lenders, and investors, with expertise in areas including Chapter 11 proceedings, distressed asset management, UCC foreclosures, and business disputes.

During the past year, Jacobs represented The Chetrit Group in the restructuring of its billion-dollar portfolio, navigating litigation with major financial institutions. He also advised well-known real estate owners/investors Joe and Morris Moinian on various restructuring initiatives for properties, including a 400-key hotel in Midtown Manhattan.

As a thought leader, Jacobs has been featured in numerous publications and regularly appears on industry panels where he discusses distressed investing and restructuring strategies.

His community service includes a role as Chief Counsel to the Bukharian Jewish Community Center, where he provides pro bono representation and advocates for equitable access to justice across underserved communities. Jacobs’ involvement with religious and cultural institutions—including the Bethelite Community Baptist Church—reflects his belief that the law should serve as a tool for empowerment and preservation.

These are some of the reasons why Leo Jacobs received Connect CRE’s 2025 New York & Tri-State Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
