Anthony DellaPelle

Anthony DellaPelle is the Managing Partner of McKirdy, Riskin, Olson & DellaPelle, where he specializes in local redevelopment law, eminent domain, and real estate tax appeal matters. Additionally, he is the 2024 Global Chair of The Counselors of Real Estate, a global organization comprised of commercial property advisors.

He is a Certified Civil Trial attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court with more than 125 jury trials conducted on real estate valuation issues. Notable and recent jury trials include a verdict of $4.7 million from an Ocean County, NJ, jury. This represented the “just compensation” for taking a beach parcel on the Atlantic Ocean, where the government had offered $500 for the taking.  The verdict exceeded the value estimate of the property owner’s real estate appraisal.

Another verdict delivered by a jury in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey involved taking a former Michelin Tire factory site in central New Jersey for “local redevelopment purposes.”  The government agency initially offered $1.7 million for the property. DellaPelle and his team obtained a verdict of more than $26 million.

DellaPelle is co-author of the fourth edition of the “New Jersey Condemnation Practice” treatise and serves as the only New Jersey attorney elected to Owners Counsel of America. He has been a presenter at several continuing education programs for legal and real estate. His pro bono work includes an Indiana redevelopment project as part of the Counselors of Real Estate’s Consulting Corps. Furthermore, he’s a vocalist for Sound Counsel, the organization’s rock and roll band.

The Best Lawyers in America named him Lawyer of the Year in the Eminent Domain/Condemnation practice area.
