Lease strategic plans for the firm's retail, industrial and residential real estate portfolio

Mentors others through ICSC, ULI and NMHC

In 2022, Watt Properties in Los Angeles reorganized its real estate portfolio into separate entities. Courtney Trujillo was selected as President of one of the SR Watt Company divisions. She relied on her abilities to set up area of marketing, finance, asset management and operations for the new business. Now she leads strategic plans for the firm’s portfolio of retail, industrial and residential real estate.

SR Watt’s 1.1-million-square-foot portfolio consists of 363,000 square feet of retail space, 466 multifamily and 140,000 square feet of office space. In addition to overseeing the portfolio Trujillo develops value and strategies for new investment opportunities in multifamily and retail in core West Coast markets.

Her previous job was Vice President, Asset Management for Watt Properties. Her 11-year stint in that position saw her overseeing a 1.3-million-square-foot portfolio of retail, office and industrial product. Trujillo’s extensive real estate experience also includes portfolio management for Burnham Pacific Properties, Center Trust Properties, Summit Commercial and Red Mountain Retail Group.

Career highlights include assembling portfolios of grocery-anchored centers through acquisition to disposition, completing several retail redevelopment projects and overseeing construction and leasing of a one-million-square-foot regional shopping mall.  Her approach in developing partners helped keep small businesses in place through COVID. This maintained occupancy and generated good relationships during the depressed economic cycle.

Trujillo is an active participant in the ICSC, ULI and NMHC; through these and other organizations, she offers mentorship and advice to young women interested in commercial real estate. Her community service includes support of the National Charity League, Rainbow Shelter, Toberman House and Boys & Girls Club.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Courtney Trujillo as one of California’s 2022 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
