The Benoit Group’s Eddy Benoit Oversees $3 Billion in Affordable and Mixed-Income Development
Eddy Benoit Jr. has spent more than three decades in commercial real estate, building The Benoit Group into a vertically integrated development platform focused on affordable, mixed-income and seniors housing. Since founding the company, Benoit has been involved in more than $3 billion in development activity in the U.S. and abroad.
Benoit’s background includes leadership positions with Ambling Development Partners, Skanska USA and Regent Partners. He also hosts “Shape The Deal,” a real estate development program focused on deal structure and strategy.
Significant projects include the $71.5 million, 160-unit Englewood Senior in Atlanta. Benoit also led development of the adjacent 200-unit Englewood Multifamily, a mixed-income, mixed-use project with more than $86 million in total costs. Eighty percent of the apartments are affordable, while the remaining 20% are market-rate. The project also secured a $28.3 million FHA/HUD-insured financing package.
Other recent projects include the 143-unit affordable Southtown Senior in Birmingham, AL and the 180-unit Bethel Towers, an affordable rental community in Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn neighborhood.
Benoit has been recognized as one of the Atlanta Business League’s Men of Influence, a Captain of Industry, Entrepreneur of the Year, Top Gator 100 and Georgia Titans 100 Top CEO.
These are some of the reasons why Eddy Benoit was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Developer of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
