Hillpointe Founders Improve National Workforce Housing Platform
Steven Campisi and Kelly Mahoney in 2018 launched Hillpointe, a vertically integrated developer, owner and operator focused on attainable workforce housing, which owns and operates more than 12,000 apartment homes and has approximately 15,000 units in its development pipeline, including about 8,700 under construction.
Since its founding, the company has been involved in the development, construction and management of more than 18,000 apartment homes representing more than $3.2 billion in capitalization.
One milestone involved closing the $750-million hard-cap Hillpointe Workforce Housing Partnership V, the firm’s largest fundraise. The fund supports approximately 30 workforce housing developments totaling nearly 10,000 homes and about $2 billion in assets.
Campisi and Mahoney influence the broader housing industry through their nonprofit, the Housing and Workforce Collective Solutions, which relies on partnerships to support the workforce and attainable housing. Hillpointe also supports workforce development through Hiring Our Heroes and scholarship initiatives.
These are some of the reasons why Hillpointe was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Developer of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
