Porter Kyle Builds Its Niche With Townhome-Style BTR
Porter Kyle of Scottsdale, AZ, is led by partners Taylor Shultz, Matt Long and Michael Stephan. Since its 2017 launch, the firm has focused on built-to-rent communities, handling the full development process, including entitlement, design, development and construction.
Porter Kyle positioned itself within that niche through the partners’ combination of development, construction and operating expertise.
Current developments include the 100-unit Wayne in Chandler, AZ. The project broke ground in Q1 2025 and delivered the first units in Q2 2026. Other current projects include the 100-unit Cleveland (Goodyear, AZ) and the 78-unit Ashley (Chandler).
Porter Kyle has also received industry recognition for its work from AZRE, GlobeSt and Connect CRE.
These are some of the reasons why Porter Kyle was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Developer of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
