Julia Schmidt is a real estate partner in King & Spalding’s Washington, D.C. office. She represents sponsors, equity investors, operators and developers in complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, construction and development transactions. Her focus is on borrower-side financing transactions, with an emphasis on mixed-income housing.

While at K&S, Schmidt has worked with data center owners, operators, and investors on more than a dozen financings in excess of $2 billion over the last few years. She also oversees Cortland Partners’ Cortland Enhanced Value Fund IV, previously formed by K&S, following an acquisition from Elme Communities for a 19-asset portfolio valued at $1.6 billion in cash.  

She is a long-standing member of CREW DC’s Programs Committee, serves on the K&S Recruiting Committee and is vice president of her undergraduate alumni association for Washington, DC. She performs extensive pro-bono work and mentors associates.

Schmidt has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Law 360, and is a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
