As Director of Production Screening at NewPoint Real Estate Capital, Kathy Williams oversees a team responsible for screening, structuring, and sizing potential deals before a formal application is submitted. Williams bridges origination and underwriting, upholds NewPoint’s standards to maintain consistency and strong agency submissions across the platform, and serves as the lead point of contact for NewPoint’s agency partners.
She also established and leads the firm’s internal production support forum and has played a leading role in structuring and executing various types of transactions to meet the needs of NewPoint’s clients.
Williams is a member of NewPoint’s Agency Leadership Team.
One notable highlight involved restructuring the refinance of a workforce housing project in Orange City, IA, closing a $10.3-million loan with a seven-year term within 60 days. Williams also played a significant role in refinancing a workforce housing multifamily property in Las Vegas, where two buildings were offline due to a fire. Williams negotiated a competitive $30 million loan with full-term interest-only payments and a 35-year amortization.
NewPoint’s screening team often serves as an entry point for recent college graduates, most of whom have little to no experience in real estate finance. Williams takes a hands-on approach to leadership and mentorship by walking them through live deals, guiding them through the technical and procedural aspects of production, and helping them build the judgment required to move deals forward in a high-pressure environment.
Williams is involved with youth sports and public education; she volunteers to coach her sons’ baseball, tennis, and soccer teams. She also regularly volunteers at her children’s elementary school.
