Samantha (Sami) Um, Chief of Staff and Head Prompt Engineer, is part of Diald AI’s founding team. She works closely with the CEO to define and drive the company’s strategic goals and OKRs, conducts market research on real estate and AI trends, and handles high-impact, undefined projects, including partnerships, new product exploration, and M&A support as the company scales.
Um spearheaded the creation of Diald AI’s proprietary “Diald Score,” an institutional-grade risk metric, along with the company’s agentic underwriting workflow that orchestrates 19 specialized AI agents. This innovation became the cornerstone of the company’s IP and a differentiator in the market.
In addition to her core responsibilities, Um represents the company at industry events and cultivates valuable relationships with prospective clients and partners.
While attending Harvard University, Um co-founded üBAR Labs (now uVedas), a biotech startup that developed a health bar personalized to consumers’ genetic nutritional deficiencies. She and her team produced 300 bar prototypes for the soft launch, which generated a 98% consumer satisfaction in the target demographic of pregnant women.
As a Co-Founder of üBAR Labs, Um and her team were semifinalists at the Harvard iLab President’s Innovation Challenge. During her time at Harvard, she also received the John Harvard Scholar Award, awarded to students in the top 5% of their respective classes.
She is currently an active member of the LA running community, serving as both an athlete and organizer, and fostering connections around community, wellness, and active living.
These are just a few reasons Samantha Um is among the California Connect CRE 2025 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
