Managed 1,600-asset portfolio while with the City of San Diego

As Founder & CEO of propertyworx LLC, Penny Maus leads real estate and land use advisory for public agencies, nonprofits and developers. She scopes and runs solicitations, builds defensible evaluation tools, manages due diligence and entitlement strategy, and supports negotiations for acquisitions, dispositions and lease extensions.

Maus launched propertyworx LLC in January 2024, expanding the firm from single-project advisory to multi-agency on-call work and nonprofit portfolio support. Previously, Maus was Director of Real Estate and Airport Management for the City of San Diego, where she managed a 1,600-asset portfolio. She also held leadership roles in real estate with the Port of San Diego, Petco, and Jack in the Box.

Maus serves as Vice President of Lambda Alpha International – San Diego Chapter, helping shape programming and member engagement. She sits on ULI San Diego–Tijuana’s Advisory Board and Management Committee and leads programming as Programs Co-Chair and Steering Committee Chair for the inaugural Housing Summit. The event convenes public agencies, developers and nonprofits to move projects forward.

She has been honored by the San Diego Business Journal (Leader of Influence, Most Influential People in San Diego, Woman of the Year), GlobeSt./Real Estate Forum (Woman of Influence) and the San Diego Magazine (Celebrating Women Awards).

These are just a few reasons Penny Maus is among the California Connect CRE 2025 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect CRE’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected leadership positions and taken on mentorship roles.
