Sam Kilberg is a senior associate in Dykema’s Real Estate Group, where he handles land use and zoning, acquisitions, commercial leasing, condemnation, real estate litigation and financing.

He is the lead associate on several high-impact matters, including a multi-year condemnation project for a Michigan transmission line expansion and a 700-acre traditional neighborhood development in Illinois. Additionally, he is the lead associate for condemnation work for a $2-billion, 200-mile transmission expansion project in Michigan and has secured dozens of cannabis facility licenses at the state and local levels over the years.            

Kilberg has been named Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in Real Estate Law and graduated from the Junior Leadership Oakland and Leadership Oakland Cornerstone programs.

He mentors junior attorneys, organizes office-wide events, and helps lead a firm-wide presentation on timekeeping strategies for associates. Kilberg is the Membership Chair and E-Newsletter Editor for the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Law Section and frequently speaks at the Section’s Winter and Summer Conferences.

In the community, Kilberg supports 360 Detroit, contributing legal assistance to help the organization build and expand parks in Detroit’s underserved neighborhoods.
