Notable developments include residential projects at Straits Row and 626 S. Wabash

Nick Melrose is the founder and chief executive officer of Chicago-based Melrose Ascension Capital (MAC), a private equity real estate development and investment firm. He completed his first high-rise project in downtown Chicago this year and oversees a pipeline totaling $470 million, 1,000 units, and 1.25 million square feet in Chicago and other markets nationwide.

He is a co-developer of the 18-story Straits Row on LaSalle Street; additional projects include residential towers at 626 S. Wabash Ave. and 1221 W. Washington Blvd.

One of the city’s youngest real estate developers, Melrose hosts frequent industry networking events and provides mentorship to many younger professionals, both in and outside of the industry. Business Insider recently recognized him as one of the country’s 20 professionals under the age of 35 who are transforming the industry.

These are just a few reasons we chose Nick Melrose as one of Connect CRE’s Chicago & Midwest 2025 Next Generation Award winners. Connect CRE’s annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
