John Carlson is a partner in the K&L Gates Real Estate practice. He represents clients with real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and operations. Carlson works across various asset classes, including agricultural, renewable energy, natural resources, retail, multifamily, office, hospitality, and industrial. Carlson also represents borrowers and lenders with commercial real estate financing deals.

Notable matters include representing a global retailer in the acquisition of 34 acres for a new retail development. He also advised an investment management company on its $36-million loan. He served as lead counsel for a large agricultural investor in a $289-million acquisition involving a portfolio of 46 tenant-operated farms, totaling 41,554 acres across eight states.

These are some of the reasons why John Carlson received Connect CRE’s 2025 Seattle & Northwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
