Focuses on environmental issues and brownfield redevelopment

Directs environmental due diligence and health and safety audits

Jeff Hunter is a partner at Perkins Coie, where he counsels corporate, governmental, and individual clients in the United States and internationally. His work focuses on environmental issues, including regulatory compliance, administrative enforcement, and environmental litigation. He handles matters dealing with the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated industrial and commercial properties, brownfield redevelopment projects, and environmental due diligence in real estate and corporate transactions.

For these clients, Hunter performs due diligence, advises on financial disclosure obligations related to the environment, and helps ensure compliance with countries’ environmental laws and directives. He has directed and led environmental due diligence, including completing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, as well as environmental health and safety audits.

Additionally, Hunter has negotiated environmental provisions in leases, purchase and sale agreements, stock purchase agreements, merger and acquisition agreements, and other transaction documents, including complex remediation, hold-back, and indemnity agreements.

These are some of the reasons why Jeff Hunter received Connect CRE’s 2025 Seattle & Northwest Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
