Philip Levine
Represented an advisory firm in its $10-million Opportunity Zone investment
Advised the same firm in seed money investment for a $1-billion fund
As head of Morrison Foerster’s Northern California Real Estate Group, Philip Levine leads a practice that advises REITs, private equity firms, institutional investors, and developers on commercial real estate activities, ranging from large-scale acquisitions and sales to joint ventures, financings, and ground-up developments.
Levine is also a member of the firm’s Distressed Real Estate Group.
Within the past year, Levine represented a global real estate investment advisory firm in a $10-million equity investment in a $400-million Opportunity Zone multifamily complex in Brooklyn, NY. He advised the same client on investing $100-$200 million in club seed capital in a to-be-formed $1-billion build-to-rent fund.
Levine is a member of national and local real estate trade organizations, including ULI and NAREIT, and a past member of the NAIOP National Forums and board of directors of NACORE’s Silicon Valley Chapter. He was a lecturer at Stanford Law School.
He has advised environmental nonprofits on land preservation efforts, including The Nature Conservancy, Western Rivers Conservancy, Peninsula Open Space Trust, and the Oakland Community Land Trust. Levine is a former board member and chair of the Legal Committee for Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco.
