Catherine Morgen is a Partner with Seyfarth Shaw, where she represents real estate clients with an emphasis on the hospitality industry.

She represents developers, owners, and managers of hotel properties in acquisitions, dispositions, and mergers, as well as in development and negotiating management and franchise agreements. Morgen regularly works with all major hotel brands and third-party operators across all hospitality asset classes.

She led Seyfarth’s representation of Pyramid Global Hospitality, Western & Southern Financial Group and Eagle Realty Group in the purchase and financing of the 147-room AC Marriott in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. Morgen also spearheaded Seyfarth’s representation of Breakwater in its joint-venture acquisition of the 175-key historic hotel in downtown Augusta, GA, designed by architect I. M. Pei.

Morgen has presented on topics covering hotel ownership, management and development, hospitality lending, CFIUS in hospitality transactions, distressed hotel matters and women’s leadership issues.

Chambers USA has repeatedly ranked Morgen’s hospitality practice as among the top in the country for Leisure & Hospitality law.

These are some of the reasons why Catherine Morgen received Connect CRE’s 2025 Atlanta & Southeast Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
