As co-vice chair of DLA Piper’s US Real Estate practice, Barbara Trachtenberg manages staffing for more than 160 lawyers, develops strategies for the practice’s growth and leads teams to implement those strategies. She is actively involved in lateral recruiting and chairs the real estate group’s hiring committee.
A thought leader, Trachtenberg chairs DLA Piper’s Global Real Estate Summit, develops the firm’s Annual State of the Market Report and manages the firm’s semi-annual Real Estate Trends Report, which measures the trends that DLA Piper lawyers are seeing in the high-volume real estate practice across the nation. She frequently guest-lectures with other industry leaders at the MIT Center for Real Estate and Columbia Business School.
Notable transactions included the joint venture, acquisition, and financing of 451 D Street in Boston and the acquisition of a majority interest in two hyperscale data center properties in Elk Grove, IL, through a joint venture with Digital Realty Trust. She also led a Boston-based team that managed dozens of transactions for AEW Capital Management LP.
Trachtenberg is an active member and past president of CREW Boston. She is also a member of the highly respected American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) and serves on its Member Development Committee.
