Represented Tri Pointe Homes with the 380-acre Meadowood development

As a Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP partner, Whitney Hodges works with developers throughout Southern California on residential, commercial, industrial, solar generation, in-fill and mixed-use developments. Her scope of services encompasses real estate due diligence investigations, negotiating and drafting development agreements, and facilitating land use entitlements. She also provides counsel on labor law, union negotiations and resolving union disputes.

One highlight is representation on behalf of the developer of Seaside Ridge, a proposed 259-unit apartment complex that would deliver more than 100 affordable housing units to Del Mar, CA. She also represents Tri Pointe Homes in its development of the 380-acre Meadowood development in Fallbrook, CA.

Hodges contributes to the law firm’s Pro Bono, Recruiting and Diversity & Inclusion committees. Outside the firm, she is an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego and serves as general counsel for the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Hodges is secretary of CREW San Diego and spearheads the chapter’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative. She founded and chaired the San Diego Humane Society’s Young Professionals Committee and served on the YWCA of San Diego’s board.

Hodges received Sheppard Mullin’s Bob Williams Award and the firm’s Bob Gerber Pro Bono Attorney of the Year Award. The Los Angeles Times recognized her as a Commercial Real Estate Visionary, and the San Diego Business Journal honored her as a Leader of Influence and Woman of Influence.

She received her law degree from the University of Southern California.

These are some of the reasons why we are honoring Whitney Hodges with Connect CRE’s 2023 California Lawyers in Real Estate Award. The award celebrates real estate attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their practice and the larger community.
