James Holt
Manages more than 3,000 multifamily units of in-process and pipeline in L.A.
Underwrote and evaluated more than 100 investment opportunities within the past year
James Holt serves as a Vice President in the Los Angeles office of Trammell Crow Company (TCC), the nation’s largest real estate development firm. In this role, Holt focuses on multifamily opportunities within Greater Los Angeles for the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, High Street Residential (HSR).
Holt manages over 3,000 units of in-process and pipeline development in Greater Los Angeles, including management of the underwriting, investment processes, leasing, asset management, and capital partner reporting. He has underwritten and evaluated over 100 investment opportunities in the past year alone, directly resulting in two new developments and over 500 units of additional pipeline.
In addition to his meaningful and direct contributions to his team’s bottom line, Holt plays a key role in setting the acquisition strategy for the HSR team in Greater Los Angeles. His ability to canvas and manipulate enormous data sets related to household incomes, rents, population growth, housing burden and other information helps the HSR team prioritize target markets and has directly informed the team’s business strategy.
Holt is actively involved in TCC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Steering Committee. He currently chairs the group’s industry subcommittee, which is focused on developing corporate partnerships to advance diversity within the real estate industry as a whole. Under Holt’s leadership, the team successfully launched DEI-focused partnerships with the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP and Project Destined.
Holt’s community service includes serving as Chair of the Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of Young Catholic Professionals. He is also an active member of the local Los Angeles real estate community through his involvement in the Southern California Steering Committee for the Harvard Real Estate Alumni Organization (HREAO), the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders Group, and African American Real Estate Professionals of Los Angeles (AAREP-LA).
