Fulya Kocak Gin



Leads sustainability efforts and ESG for Nareit

Is a certified LEED fellow and author of sustainability books

Fulya Kocak Gin currently serves as Senior Vice President of ESG Issues for Nareit. In this role, she leads sustainability efforts, inclusive of environmental, social and governance aspects within the real estate industry. She has oversight of Nareit’s Real Estate Sustainability Council and leads the development of the organization’s annual REIT Industry ESG report. She also helps with the development and execution of Nareit’s ESG conference, REITworks.

Kocak Gim is also an award-winning sustainability thought leader, instructor, and author and often asked to share her extensive green real estate and corporate sustainability experience by speaking at events and conferences and teaching sustainability workshops.

She is a certified LEED fellow, has authored sustainability books and instructs sustainability and LEED workshops. Starting in 2015, Kocak Gin authored a LEED AP BD+C Exam Preparation Guide and Study Cards. She is also a Linkedin Learning author for sustainability courses.

Kocak Gin serves on multiple boards, councils and committees, including the District of Columbia’s Green TAG, working on the first DC Green Building Codes; as Chairwoman of USGBC National Capital Chapter Board and as Chair of Maryland Governor’s Green Building Council.
