Ashley Atwater has demonstrated exemplary leadership, vision, determination and industry acumen over the past nine years as Principal and Founder of Washington, DC-headquartered MBB Affiliates.
Atwater’s leadership has led to the significant growth of MBB Affiliates. Specifically, her ability to identify and nurture talent has resulted in double digit growth of 43% increase in revenue for the past two years. Despite the pandemic and current economic uncertainty, this metric is continuing upward. The size of the portfolio under her management (based on square feet) also increased by 50%.
Atwater creates business opportunities for underrepresented groups in the real estate industry. Specifically, MBB has metrics in place to ensure that at least one third or more of her employees are residents of the District of Columbia, and that at least one third of her company’s total expenditures go to DC based firms.
Atwater has been honored with the Emerging Leader award from AAREP- DC. She is also a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellowship Alumni, a member of CREW – DC Chapter, Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association (WREAA), University of Michigan Real Estate Group (UMDC REG), African American Real Estate Professionals (AAREP) and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA). She is a board member of the Marshall B. Bass Children’s Fund.
