Matthew Colavita
With team, is responsible for leasing and managing a 3.1 million-square-foot, 16-building portfolio
Handled Rockwell Architecture’s 39,000-square-foot renewal
Instrumental in assisting the shift to virtual tours
Matthew Colavita joined GPF Real Estate in 2015 as an associate asset manager and quickly became an essential member of the company’s asset management team. A quick learner, Colavita’s eagerness to learn, hard work ethic, creative problem-solving abilities and capacity to consistently go above and beyond to deliver to tenants and colleagues led to his promotion to director in 2018.
Colavita and his team are currently responsible for the leasing and asset management of a significant 16-building portfolio comprising more than 3.1 million square feet. The portfolio includes 5-9 Union Square West, 11-05 44th Dr., 40 Exchange Pl., 171 Madison Ave., 630 Ninth Ave. (The Film Center Building) and 520 Eighth Ave. Some of his higher-profile transactions include several high-profile lease transactions, including Rockwell Architecture’s 39,000-square-foot renewal and Staples’ 21,000-square-foot renewal at 5-9 Union Square West.
Colavita’s other notable achievements include assisting with the successful, rapid lease-up of numerous buildings within his portfolio even during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also created and managed nearly 20 individual building budgets and assisting GFP Real Estate in its shift to virtual tours through Matterport. This move resulted in faster, increased leasing activity while differentiating GFP properties from the competition.
These are just a few reasons we chose Colavita as one of New York/Tri-State’s 2022 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s sixth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
