Zamir Kazi

As Founder and CEO of ZMR Capital, Zamir Kazi is responsible for all aspects of the business as well as overseeing the origination, structuring and asset management of all of ZMR Capital’s investment activities. He is a functional CEO, making all decisions about the company’s ongoing investments and strategy.

His ability to find deals, even under the most challenging of circumstances, has been a key reason for the success of his company, even during the pandemic. Targeting value-add workforce housing in high-growth markets, the company invested $700 million to acquire 3,300 units in 2021. During the first part of 2022, ZMR bought five properties, paying more than $500 million, and is on track to match or exceed 2021’s future.

As a strong communicator, he facilitated conversations between his staff and its clients to ensure that projects continued to move forward despite the increased challenges caused by COVID. He creates a work-hard play-hard atmosphere that attracts the best talent, enabling ZMR Capital to hire the best in the industry. It also attracts clients interested in doing business with the firm.

Part of Kazi’s vision is to help solve the growing issue of affordable housing in this country. Through the acquisition of strategic, value-add opportunities in primary, secondary and emerging markets across the United States, Kazi’s focus is on creating quality housing that is also affordable for the general public. A passion for his job as well as a tireless work ethic continues to drive his firm’s success.

Kazi founded ZMR Capital in 2013. He received his bachelor’s degree in PreMed with business from Florida State University.
