Based in South Florida, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough Senior Associate Josh Brandsdorfer’s wide-ranging national practice focuses on representing senior, mezzanine, and equity financing lending institutions in real estate finance transactions. He also offers transactional counsel in a variety of commercial real estate matters to private and public real estate investment firms, family offices, joint venture groups and private investors.
Brandsdorfer’s professional accomplishments include representation of an international superyacht marina network in the joint-venture purpose and redevelopment of a mixed-use project proposal concerning Island Gardens Deep Harbour marina in Miami, FL. He also represented a regional real estate investment and management company in its $75-million acquisition and financing of a 12-building assemblage in Newport News, VA. This involved 50 tenants, multiple property owner associations and restrictive covenants, including public bond financing in the certain areas of the property.
He also represented a private commercial real estate loan origination and servicing company on multiple transactions within the last year, including an initial refinance, cash-out and subsequent $30 million construction loan for the development of a national brand hotel in Miami.
. Additionally, he was selected for the Urban Land Institute’s Leadership Institute Class of 2022 for South Florida/Caribbean. Brandsdorfer and his team have also been tasked with providing the Plantation, FL Plantation Gateway Community Redevelopment Agency District with tangible land use and real estate opportunities and solutions. This resulted from the relocation of Plantation General Hospital to the Nova Southeastern University campus.
At the start of the pandemic, Brandsdorfer was invited to serve as the pro bono general counsel to the Los Olas Association, Inc., a 55-year-old business group promoting interests of merchants and professional services organizations on this well-known business center in Fort Lauderdale. He provides legal, transactional, and business advice to the association’s Board of Directors
