Barings Sells Midtown West Rental Tower for $244 Million

Company:

Barings

Barings sold its 44-story Riverbank to JPMorgan Asset Management for $243.5 million. The rental property is at 560 W. 43rd St. in Manhattan’s Midtown West submarket.

JLL represented seller Barings, procured the buyer and arranged $128.3 million in acquisition financing.

Originally developed in the late 1980s as a condominium project, Riverbank contains 418 rental units, offering residents proximity to nearly 19 million square feet of Class A office space at Hudson Yards and access to transportation, retail and entertainment amenities.

The property underwent a recent renovation and features balconies on most units, many with city and Hudson River views. Its amenities include a 5,000-square-foot resident lounge, swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, outdoor terrace and grilling areas.

JLL’s sales team included Jeffrey Julien, Rob Hinckley, Andrew Scandalios, Steven Rutman and Devon Warren. The debt advisory team included Kelly Gaines, Geoff Goldstein and Michael Shmuely.

These are some of the reasons why the Riverbank transaction was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Transaction of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
