$1.625 Billion Camden Portfolio Deal Ranks Among Southern California’s Largest
Camden Property Trust sold an 11-property, 3,620-unit multifamily property portfolio to BlackRock for $1.652 billion. The multifamily transaction was one of Southern California’s largest.
Collectively, the transaction represented 16.5% of the region’s five-year average annual multifamily transaction volume by unit count.
JLL, which represented Camden in the sale, also arranged $566.6 million in acquisition financing for the buyer through an agency debt arrangement.
The portfolio has properties in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Diego counties, which are among Southern California’s most supply-constrained multifamily markets.
Included are the 287-unit Camden in Hollywood (with 38,970 square feet in retail space), the 380-unit Camden Crown Valley in Mission Viejo, the 469-unit Camden Landmark in Ontario and the 132-unit Camden Hillcrest in San Diego.
These are some of the reasons why the Camden Property Trust-BlackRock transaction was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Transaction of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
