Monday Properties’ Jennifer Burns Oversees the Operating Engine Behind Multifamily Growth
Jennifer Burns has spent more than two decades in real estate, with her career focusing on multifamily operations. That experience has become increasingly important as she has helped Monday Properties expand its residential platform.
She joined Monday Properties in 2011 and eventually became the chief operating officer. Her responsibilities include oversight of asset and property management, leasing, marketing and IT.
She leads acquisition due diligence and capital allocation for the company’s portfolio and oversees major capital improvement initiatives. Burns also works across acquisitions, construction, leasing and property management to integrate new communities and establish operating strategies.
Since November 2024, Burns has led five acquisitions totaling nearly 1,000 units, including the company’s first investments in Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth. She also oversaw the delivery and lease-up of the 338-unit Willow in North Charleston, SC.
During her tenure with Monday, Burns helped develop processes that incorporate operational considerations into underwriting and due diligence.
Her industry involvement includes speaking engagements with Bisnow, RETCON and BOMA; board service with the Rosslyn Business Improvement District and leadership roles with IREM and AOBA. The Washington Business Journal, Connect CRE, Bisnow and GlobeSt have also recognized Burns.
These are some of the reasons why Jennifer Burns was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Investor/Owner of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
