Eric Chen with CBRE Closes $6.5 Billion in Multifamily Sales and Financing
Eric Chen, executive vice president of investment properties at CBRE, has spent more than 22 years working in multifamily investment sales, condominium conversions and apartment development land throughout Southern California’s San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire.
Since 2003, Chen and his team, working with CBRE Capital Markets’ Ryan Wilkinson, have completed more than 733 transactions representing over $6.5 billion in sales and financing.
The team commands market shares of 30% to 40% in numerous cities across the Los Angeles and Inland Empire markets. Chen works with a diverse client base that includes high-net-worth individuals, syndications, family trusts, private equity firms, hedge funds and international investors, particularly from Asia. He also advises clients on 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.
Before joining CBRE, Chen was a director with Marcus & Millichap’s National Multi-Housing Group, where he was the firm’s top national investment-sales producer and mentored new agents.
Chen has been named CBRE’s Top Multifamily Producer in California and received CoStar’s Power Broker Award as a top sales broker in the Inland Empire. Other recognitions include Producer of the Year Award for the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County, a Multicultural Leadership Award from the California Diversity Council and multiple Marcus & Millichap national achievement honors.
Chen holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from California State University, Fullerton, and is a member of ULI, AREAA and the National Multi-Housing Council.
These are some of the reasons why Eric Chen was selected to receive ApartmentBuildings.com’s AB 100 Dealmaker of the Year Award, which recognizes those who demonstrate creativity, skill and success in the multifamily industry.
