Virginia (Jenny) Worthy is a commercial real estate partner in the Atlanta office of Eversheds Sutherland. Over the past decade, Worthy helped establish and grow the firm’s Real Estate practice group. She joined Eversheds Sutherland in September 2013 and was elected a U.S. partner in 2021.
Her practice involves representing and advising commercial and investment banks, pension funds, real estate investment trusts, insurance companies, and borrowers in financing transactions. She assists lending clients with structuring loans utilizing diverse debt stacks.
Notable highlights include leading the team representing the student housing-focused Timberline Real Estate. She also led a team that closed a $1-billion credit facility for a major public pension fund and is a team member involved with handling mortgage loan origination work for a Fortune 500 insurance company’s $800-million debt fund.
Worthy is chair of Eversheds Sutherland’s Atlanta Women Partners Group, Partner Liaison for the Eversheds Sutherland Women Attorneys Group, lead organizer for the Executive Women’s Weekend and a member of the firm’s Counsel Review and Hiring Committees and Forestry and Climate Solutions team.
She is a Fellow and active participant in the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA), a member of the CRE Finance Council (CREFC) and one of the founding members of the Women in Timber professional organization.
Worthy has been recognized by GlobeSt (Woman of Influence) and Legal 500 United States (real estate finance).
