Sheila Dial Barton
Involved with projects including the $2.3-billion Nissan Stadium
Led firm to adopt a paid family leave program
Sheila Dial Barton is a principal and majority owner of EOA Architects in Nashville, TN.
Since joining EOA in 1997, Barton’s largest projects include the new Nissan Stadium ($2.3 billion), the new Concourse A at the Nashville International Airport ($675 million) and the Tennessee State Museum ($160 million). She also spearheaded renovations of the Legislative Plaza Building ($138 million) and War Memorial Building ($86 million).
Upon becoming a firm principal in 2016, she led her firm to adopt a Family Leave Policy, which allows both males and females to take four to six weeks of paid leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
She is a mentor with the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) nine-month program and is an active member of AEC Power Women. Additional organizations in which she’s been involved include the AIA Middle Tennessee Chapter (former chair), University of Tennessee’s School of Architecture Advocacy Board, O’More College of Design’s committee, the DISTRICT (former chair and board of directors member) and the Young Architects Forum (former chair).
Barton received the Nashville Business Journal’s Women of Influence award and has been on the Nashville Post’s “Nashville in Charge” list. She received the Bronze Medal from the University of Tennessee School of Architecture and Nashville Business Journal’s “Most Admired CEO” award.
