Represented client in a $1-billion headquarters renovation

Obtained rezoning approval for an 80-acre mixed-use project

Hawwi Edao focuses on land use and zoning matters connected with the development approval process, including rezoning applications and special exceptions. She represents major developers and national, regional and local companies in land use matters, including transit-oriented, mixed-use projects and residential, office, retail, industrial and large data center projects.

Recent matters include working with American Real Estate Partners in its $1-billion renovation of the former AOL Headquarters into Pacific Corporate Park (Loudoun County, VA); advising on Quantum Park’s redevelopment to accommodate a new data center (Ashburn, VA) and obtaining rezoning approval for the 80-acre mixed-use Rivana development (Fairfax, VA).

Edao is a representative on DLA Piper’s Committee of Associate Representatives, a Pathfinder for the firm’s Leadership Council of Legal Diversity, and a mentor for summer associates in the real estate group. She is also a member of the Reston Chamber of Commerce.

These are just a few reasons we chose Hawwi Edao as one of Connect CRE’s Washington D.C. & Mid-Atlantic 2025 Next Generation Award winners. Connect CRE’s annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders who will have a strong influence on the commercial real estate industry.
