Tushna Gamadia
Assisted a REIT merger that generated a $7-billion portfolio
Advised on an $80-million joint venture investment
Morrison Foerster Partner Tushna Gamadia represents investors, developers, and financial institutions in joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and real estate finance transactions. She manages a range of property types, including office buildings, shopping centers, multifamily housing, and hotels.
She played a key role in Steadfast Apartment REIT’s merger with Independence Realty Trust, which created a $7-billion portfolio spanning 131 properties and 38,000 units across the Sunbelt region. Gamadia also oversaw the legal work for an $80-million joint venture investment in Richmond, VA, supporting the development of a multi-phase townhome community.
She serves as the partner liaison for the firm’s Disability Affinity Network. She is an active fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), where she mentors junior attorneys and promotes inclusion in the profession. She serves on the board of the Young Mortgage Bankers Association.
Gamadia’s pro bono work represents survivors of gender-based violence, immigrant families, veterans and small business owners. She is also a member of the Pro Bono Council for Sanctuary for Families, volunteers with the New York City Family Court Volunteer Lawyer Program and Family Legal Care volunteer program and supports transgender clients with name-change petitions.
