Spearheads team reponsible for $425 million George Washington Bridge rehab

Handled NYC's $70 million emergency bridge repair project

Jennifer Billand is Senior Project Manager within global construction and development firm Skanska’s USA Civil business unit, which spearheads leading complex and challenging heavy civil and infrastructure projects across the United States. In this position, she is responsible for the safety of employees and subcontractors, the management of budget, schedule and commercial aspects of projects in addition to subcontractors and vendors, the preparation and negotiation of change orders with project owners, and the management and mentorship of project personnel, spanning from Skanska’s internal unit to third-party partners and subcontractors.

Billand currently spearheads the team responsible for the $425-million rehabilitation of the George Washington Bridge, revitalizing and replacing the supporting structures and implementing necessary upgrades. Previously, she worked on the New York City Department of Transportation’s $70 million emergency bridge repair project, which included restoring the electrical and mechanical systems of 12 movable bridges damaged during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

Outside of her core role at Skanska USA Civil, Billand is Co-Chair of the firm’s Core Competency Training Program (CCTP), a full-time employment, rotational program for recent college graduates on Skanska projects and within offices. She is an active volunteer for Lasagna Love. Billand was selected as one of the Women Builders Council (WBC)’s Outstanding Women Builders.
